Sara and I managed to convince a contingent of about a dozen UCR undergrads and grads to join us for the annual Trona Gem-O-Rama this year. Everybody had a great time and came home with some great stuff. Even ran into some notable UCSB geology alums. I was also happy to see that the trips were just how I remembered them. We went on all three trips. The weather was hot but fair, the evening camping at the Pinnacles, a little windy. Looking forward to a much bigger turnout next year!
