Hungry for paddling, we drove out for a quick day trip to the Kern in relatively high water. I got in a Lickity Split run in, followed by a Cable run. I managed to flip twice on the Cable run, in one case going for a particularly long swim. We had a nice relatively social lunch and then regrouped for the next run. I was hoping for some interest in Brush but it was not to be. Keith got some good surfing in at least. We took a third run from Riverkern to the park and then drove on home. It was good to get out, though my eyes have been veering impatiently towards Zion.
